作為公眾奴仆的薩姆遜被立即帶了上來，穿著仆人的制服，

before him pipes and timbrels; on each side went armed guards; Both horse and foot before him and behind,

前面笙簫開道，還有人把手鼓來搖;全副武裝的兵甲陳列兩側(cè);騎兵和步兵列前殿后，

archers and slingers, cataphracts, and spears. At sight of him the people with a shout rifted the air,

弓箭手和石彈手，身披甲胄荷槍在手的一個都不少。見到他眾人齊聲高呼響徹云霄，

clamoring their god with praise, who had made their dreadful enemy their thrall.

人聲鼎沸頌揚他們的神明，可怕的敵人成了他們的奴隸。

He, patient, but undaunted, where they led him, came to the place; and what was set before him,

他們帶他上場，沉著而凜然，來到演武場，刀槍就擺在前方，

which without help of eye might be essayed, to heave, pull, draw, or break,

不用眼睛看，就能把武藝來現(xiàn)，上舉，拉弓，抽刀，斷石，

he still performed all with incredible, stupendous force, none daring to appear antagonist.

全憑的是令人難以置信的神力，誰也不敢上前與他比試。
