你走錯街道了。廣場購物中心還要往前走幾個街區(qū)。
Down the street
在這條街上
通常down和along比較像,指“沿著這條街”,所以當(dāng)說down the street時,一般就是指“面朝”或“手指”的方向。
舉兩個例子:
① It's ok. I can walk. My hostel is down the street.
沒關(guān)系,我可以走路過去。我住的青旅就在這條街上。
② There's a pharmacy down the street from where I'm staying.
我住的地方那條街上有一家藥店。
我們不僅會“問路”,還要能聽懂對方的“指路”,尤其是當(dāng)我們走錯路時:

這里的down就是:指路人“手指”或“面朝”的方向啦。
國外的blocks(街區(qū))之間通常是由比較寬的馬路隔開。
舉幾個例子:
① We're close. The Museum of Modern Art is just a couple blocks down.
我們快到了。再走幾個街區(qū)就到現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)博物館了。
② The campus is still a couple blocks down. If you're tired, we can take the bus.
還有幾個街區(qū)才到校園。如果你累了,我們可以做公交車。
