Food, dish, cuisine的區(qū)別：

1、Cuisine 菜系，烹調(diào)方法

在口語中，相較food和dish，cuisine的使用頻率低一些。

A style/method of cooking. Food from a particular culture or region. More formal.
指某種烹調(diào)方式;某個文化或地區(qū)的食物。比較正式。

 

 

例句一：
The best French cuisine I've ever had was actually in Italy.
我吃過最好的法國菜竟然是在意大利。

例句二：
Their cuisine has a lot of seafood.
他們的菜系里有很多海鮮。

2、Food 食物，某種食物

在口語中，food使用頻率很高。

Anything that can be eaten. Also used to refer to a specific type of food.
食物，也可以指某種類型的食物。

當Food指“食物”：

· What do you want to do for food?
你想吃什么?

· There's no food in the fridge.
冰箱里沒有吃的了。

當Food指“某種食物”：

· The Italian food's pretty good here.
這的意大利菜不錯。

如何區(qū)分Food和Cuisine：

A. 指”一種菜“兩個詞都可以用：
很多時候cuisine都可以被替換為food.

例一：“川菜里有很多辣椒。”
可以說：Sichuan food uses a lot of chilli peppers.
也可以：Sichuan cusine ueses a lot of chilli peppers.

例二：“你今晚想試試本地菜嗎?”
可以說：Do you wanna try the local cuisine tonight?
也可以：Do you wanna try the local food tonight?

B. 只能用food不能用cuisine的情況：

① Food單純指食物。

· I'm hungry. Let's get some food.
我餓了，我們弄點東西吃吧。

· Are we getting food before the movie?
看電影前我們?nèi)コ詵|西嗎?

② 因為口語化，用food更好。

· I'm in the mood for some Dongbei food tonight.
我今晚想吃點東北菜。

C. 只能用cuisine不能用food：

① Cuisine指一類菜，無法替換。

· This cuisine is known for its sweet and spicy balance.
這個菜系以甜辣平衡知名。

② 正式語境，用cuisine更符合。

· This award-winning restaurant features seasonal cuisine made with the finest ingredients.
這個獲獎餐廳的特色是以最優(yōu)質(zhì)原材料烹飪的季節(jié)性菜式。

3、Dish 一道菜

· How many dishes did we order?
我們點了幾道菜?

· What's in this dish? It's delicious.
這道菜里有什么?好好吃。

不要搞混dish和cuisine：

比如我們曾經(jīng)出過這么一道題：
“我家鄉(xiāng)最出名的菜是烤鴨。”

有同學寫成：
The most famous cuisine in my hometown is roast duck.

正確答案應該是：
The most famous dish/food in my hometown is roast duck.
