#1. Okay能當(dāng)動詞用

Okay is probably one of the most commonly spoken words in the world: Okay也許是世界上最常用的詞

You can use okay as a verb: okay可以當(dāng)動詞用

It means to give permission: 意思是許可、準(zhǔn)許、通過

例句：

The boss needs to okay this project: 老板得點頭通過這個項目

Did your wife okay your trip to Dong Guan? 你老婆同意你去東莞旅游嗎?

So either your boss or your wife needs to okay something: 通常要么是老板、要么是老婆okay一件事

I guess your wife is kind of like your boss: 我覺得某種意義上，老婆就像老板

He is whipped: 他是個妻管嚴(yán)

He's a wimp: 他怕老婆

#2. Do的意思好精妙

If something is "doing it for you", it means it's effective for you. You respond to it: 如果什么東西"doing it for you"，意思是你覺得它很有效，你對它有反應(yīng)、有共鳴

If something "not doing it for you", it means you are not responding to it: 如果一個東西"not doing it for you", 意思是對你沒用，你對它沒感覺

例句：

Modern art is not doing it for me: 現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)，我看了一點沒感覺

Do還能加able，變成Doable

Doable: 能不能做到、能不能辦到

It's a great word for making appointments, set time and checking work status: 這個詞用來約時間、約聚會、協(xié)調(diào)工作進(jìn)度都很好

例句：

Is tomorrow at 7 doable? 明天晚上7點行嗎?

Is dinner doable? 我們吃晚飯方便嗎?

Is the project doable? 這個項目可以做嗎?

回答：

Can do: 行，可以

Sorry, can't do: 不行、不方便

Undo: Ctrl + Z，撤銷

Undoable: 能撤銷

You can add –able to a lot of words: 很多詞后面都可以加 –able

#3 Get

Get means to understand and grasp: get這里的意思是明白、掌握

Get it?/Got it? 明白了嗎?清楚嗎?

It's used a lot when delegating tasks at work: 工作布置任務(wù)的時候，很常用

例句：

Everybody get it? 大家明白了嗎?

不過要注意語氣

When saying "Got it?" pay attention to the tone of voice: 說"Got it?"時，要注意語氣

It might sound impatient and threatening: 有可能聽上去不耐煩, 甚至像在威脅別人

怎么辦?

You can say "I think I got it" when answering: 回答的時候可以說"I think I got it"

When you add "I think" to your statements, it doesn't mean you are actually thinking, It softens the tone: 在句子前加"I think"不一定表示你在思考，作用是軟化語氣

When asking "Got it?", you might want to say it with a smile: 如果你是問"Got it?", 那說的時候最好帶著微笑

#4 Work：手機、電腦常常不work

If something is broken or not functioning: you can say "It's not working"：如果什么東西壞了或者沒用了，你可以說"It's not working"

You can also use it in a positive way: 也可以是肯定的用法，代表有用、運作正常的意思

例句：

My phone/my computer isn't working: 我電話/電腦壞了

This approach isn't working: 這個方法不行、沒用

My phone/my computer works：我電話/電腦沒問題

This approach works: 這個方法有用

戀愛也不work

"Work" is also used a lot in relationships: work在人際關(guān)系里也很常用

You could say, "It's just not working out": 可以說 "It's just not working out"，意思是"這段關(guān)系走不下去、發(fā)展不下去"

It's commonly said before a breakup: 分手之前很常用

It's not working out. It's not you, it's me: 我們走不下去，問題不是你，是我

Not just for romantic relationships, but also in terms of work: 不只是談戀愛，工作中也能用

For example, before you end a professional relationship, you can say "this is not working out": 比如，結(jié)束一段工作關(guān)系時，也可以說"this is not working out"

It means you are not a good fit: 意思是你不適合這個工作

突然想到：

Work也能加able=workable， 意思是可行、行得通

例句：

Is this solution workable? 這個解決方法可行嗎?
