What's the reasoning behind yuezi? 坐月子的道理是什么?

It's a really old tradition that's been around for hundreds if not thousands of years: 這是一個(gè)千百年的悠久傳統(tǒng)

The hygienic standards were really low back then: 古時(shí)候的衛(wèi)生條件很差

People didn't have running water, hot water: 沒有自來水、熱水

If you took a shower after giving birth, it might really weaken your body and harm your health: 生好孩子洗澡，很可能危及健康

Even though hygienic standards are much better now, the power of tradition is still very strong: 雖然現(xiàn)在衛(wèi)生條件好多了，但是傳統(tǒng)的力量還是很強(qiáng)

坐月子是一家人的工程

It takes a village: 要?jiǎng)佑靡淮遄?、一家、一群人才能完成的事?/p>

Many young Chinese women might also think some yuezi practices are too extreme: 很多年輕中國(guó)女性也覺得有些坐月子的方式很極端

Not washing up for a month is gross: 一個(gè)月不洗澡很惡心

Beggar: 流浪漢

They don't bathe: 他們洗澡

They smell horrible: 他們身上很臭

But we do it because we respect tradition: 我們尊重傳統(tǒng)

And I did it to not upset my mom: 我服從坐月子，因?yàn)椴幌肴俏覌寢屔鷼?/p>

My mom was very insistent: 我媽媽很堅(jiān)持讓我坐月子

She was very adamant about it: 她非常堅(jiān)定

坐月子真的要sit一個(gè)月?

If you are cautious in the month after giving birth, it's good for the baby too: 好好坐月子，對(duì)寶寶也好

Breast feeding: 母乳喂養(yǎng)

I probably wouldn't even have energy to shower: 我月子里也沒力氣洗澡

But if you lie around for a month, it will make you more exhausted: 一個(gè)月躺著不動(dòng)，會(huì)更累

We don't just lie around and not move: 我們不是躺著不動(dòng)
