Loose-fitting Clothing

Clearly I was not going to win the battle of the bulge on my own, so I decided to join a gym. “Before you start working out, we like to do a health assessment,” explained the gym representative. “When you come in, wear loose-fitting clothing.”

“If I had loose-fitting clothing, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.” I replied.

詞匯講解】

1.battle戰(zhàn)役，交戰(zhàn)/較量，爭論/奮斗，斗爭。也可以作動詞，“爭斗”：The two armies battled all night.兩軍徹夜戰(zhàn)斗。

2.bulge肥胖。也有“膨脹”的意思：The apple made a bulge in his pocket.蘋果把他口袋塞得鼓了起來。也可以作動詞，“凸起”：His stomach bulged.他的肚子凸了出來。

3.gym健身房。We played basketball in the gym.我們在體育館里打籃球。

“體操/(尤指學(xué)校的)體育活動”：Gym is his favourite sport.體操是他最喜愛的運(yùn)動。

4.work out鍛煉。These athletes work out at the gym for two hours every day.這些運(yùn)動員每天都要在體育館鍛煉兩個小時。還有“解答”的意思：She worked out the problem with no difficulty.她毫無困難地解決了這個問題。

6.fitting合身的。也有“適當(dāng)?shù)?rdquo;的意思：He is fitting for the job.他適合干這工作。也能作名詞，是“試穿”的意思：I’m going to a fitting tomorrow.明天我要去試穿新衣。
