Gift Wrapping

On the afternoon of Secretary Day, my co-worker and I finally found the time to get gifts for our secretaries. While at the store, my colleague noticed my disappointment. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“They won’t provide gift wrapping,” I answered.

“No problem,” he said quickly. “I’ll ask my secretary to do it.”

【詞匯講解】

1. wrap包裹。也有“纏繞”的意思：A vine wraps round a big tree.一根藤繞在一棵大樹(shù)上。

2.secretary秘書(shū)。It takes a new secretary one month to break in.新來(lái)的秘書(shū)要一個(gè)月的時(shí)間熟悉工作。

3.disappointment失望。These children are prepared for the disappointments as well as the joys of life.這些孩子不僅準(zhǔn)備享受生活的樂(lè)趣, 而且也準(zhǔn)備經(jīng)受生活中的失意。
