有一個(gè)坐在電椅上的殺人犯即將被處決。

"be about to + v."是指“即將做...”，如：I was about to go to bed when he came home.他回家的時(shí)候我正要上床睡覺(jué)。而"be not about to + v."是指“沒(méi)有意愿做…、不打算做…”， 如：I'm not about to attend the party.我不打算去參加這個(gè)舞會(huì)。

現(xiàn)今美國(guó)只有很少數(shù)的幾個(gè)州仍以電椅處決人犯，這種刑罰被認(rèn)為是殘忍的，所以多以注射毒藥取代。
