The early bird gets the worm, "worm." 早起的鳥兒才能找到蟲子(worm)。
A worm, "worm," is a little animal that birds eat. The worms live in the ground. 蟲子(worm)是鳥兒吃的一種小動物，生活在泥土里。
The idea is that if you get up early, you will get more done - you will get things that other people don't get because they get up later. 這句話的意思是，如果早起，你可以多做很多事，你會得到其他人得不到的東西，因為他們起得晚。
So, the early bird gets the worm. 所以說，早起的鳥兒有蟲吃。
Well, Lucy is not eating worms, but she does like to take a "few extra minutes to get going in the morning." 露西不吃蟲子，但她喜歡“待幾分鐘再開始新的一天。”
To get going means to get active - to start doing things. 開始新的一天，意思是動起來，開始做事情。
"One reason," she says, "it’s so hard to get up is" that her "bedroom and her bed are so comfortable." 她說，“起床困難的一個原因”是她的“臥室和床太舒服了。”
She has a very nice, comfortable bed. 她有一張非常舒服的床。
She says that she "splurged and bought a bed with very soft, thick mattress" - a very soft, thick mattress. 她說她“花大價錢買了個床，床墊又軟又厚”，很軟也很厚的床墊。
Lucy said she splurged, the verb to splurge, "splurge," means to spend a lot of money, even when it isn't necessary. 露西說她“花了大價錢”，花大價錢(splurge)意思是花很多錢，甚至花沒有必要的錢。
So, you want to buy something nice for yourself, you don't need it, it's not necessary but you want it. 通常是你想給自己買好東西，但是你并不需要這個東西，也就是沒有必要但是你很想要的東西。
So, she spends a lot of money - she splurges - and buys a very nice bed that has a nice, thick mattress. 所以她花了很多錢——她花大價錢——買了很好的床，還有很厚的床墊。
A mattress, "mattress," is the part of the bed that you actually sleep on. 床墊(mattress)是床的一部分，你要在上邊睡覺。
Usually, a mattress is something that has springs in it - pieces of metal that go up and down that allow your body to be comfortable. 通常，床墊里邊有彈簧(這種金屬零件可以上下活動，讓你身體很舒服)。
So, this is a thick mattress - a big mattress - but it is also a soft mattress, so that you can lay down on the bed and it feels good on your body. 所以，這是一個很厚的床墊，也很大，但是也很軟，這樣你才可以躺在床上覺得很舒服。
The opposite of a soft mattress is a hard mattress. 軟床墊的相對詞是硬床墊。
