There's an expression in English, "the early bird gets the worm." 英語里有句話，“早起的鳥兒有蟲吃”。

The early bird gets the worm, "worm." 早起的鳥兒才能找到蟲子(worm)。

A worm, "worm," is a little animal that birds eat. The worms live in the ground. 蟲子(worm)是鳥兒吃的一種小動(dòng)物，生活在泥土里。

The idea is that if you get up early, you will get more done - you will get things that other people don't get because they get up later. 這句話的意思是，如果早起，你可以多做很多事，你會(huì)得到其他人得不到的東西，因?yàn)樗麄兤鸬猛怼?/p>

So, the early bird gets the worm. 所以說，早起的鳥兒有蟲吃。

Well, Lucy is not eating worms, but she does like to take a "few extra minutes to get going in the morning." 露西不吃蟲子，但她喜歡“待幾分鐘再開始新的一天。”

To get going means to get active - to start doing things. 開始新的一天，意思是動(dòng)起來，開始做事情。

"One reason," she says, "it’s so hard to get up is" that her "bedroom and her bed are so comfortable." 她說，“起床困難的一個(gè)原因”是她的“臥室和床太舒服了。”

She has a very nice, comfortable bed. 她有一張非常舒服的床。

She says that she "splurged and bought a bed with very soft, thick mattress" - a very soft, thick mattress. 她說她“花大價(jià)錢買了個(gè)床，床墊又軟又厚”，很軟也很厚的床墊。

Lucy said she splurged, the verb to splurge, "splurge," means to spend a lot of money, even when it isn't necessary. 露西說她“花了大價(jià)錢”，花大價(jià)錢(splurge)意思是花很多錢，甚至花沒有必要的錢。

So, you want to buy something nice for yourself, you don't need it, it's not necessary but you want it. 通常是你想給自己買好東西，但是你并不需要這個(gè)東西，也就是沒有必要但是你很想要的東西。

So, she spends a lot of money - she splurges - and buys a very nice bed that has a nice, thick mattress. 所以她花了很多錢——她花大價(jià)錢——買了很好的床，還有很厚的床墊。

A mattress, "mattress," is the part of the bed that you actually sleep on. 床墊(mattress)是床的一部分，你要在上邊睡覺。

Usually, a mattress is something that has springs in it - pieces of metal that go up and down that allow your body to be comfortable. 通常，床墊里邊有彈簧(這種金屬零件可以上下活動(dòng)，讓你身體很舒服)。

So, this is a thick mattress - a big mattress - but it is also a soft mattress, so that you can lay down on the bed and it feels good on your body. 所以，這是一個(gè)很厚的床墊，也很大，但是也很軟，這樣你才可以躺在床上覺得很舒服。

The opposite of a soft mattress is a hard mattress. 軟床墊的相對詞是硬床墊。
