　　hold on ( a minute ) 為祈使句形態(tài)，表示“稍等片刻”或說話的途中“稍等”。另外，hold on 或 hold on the line 表示打電話時讓對方不要掛機。

　　例句：

　　Hold on, let me think it over.

　　稍等，讓我想想。

　　Could you hold a second? I'll check if he's in.

　　你能等一會嗎？我確認一下他在不在。

　　She had a breakdown and couldn't hold on to her job.
