直接引語如果是陳述句，間接引語應(yīng)改為由that引導(dǎo)的賓語從句，"that"在口語中常省略。例如：He said:"I'm happy."→He said (that) he was happy.這里的"that"可以有，也可以省略。

如果直接引語是陳述句，轉(zhuǎn)換為間接引語時(shí)，主句的謂語動詞可用直接引語中的said, 也可用told來代替。可以說"said that, said to sb. that, told sb. that"，但是不可以直接說"told that"。比如：He said:"I have been to the Great Wall."→He said to us that he had been to the Great Wall.

在直接引語向間接引語轉(zhuǎn)變的過程中，除了said, told之外，間接引語主句中常用的謂語還有"repeat, whisper, answer, reply, explain, announce, declare, think"等。例如：He said:"I'm late because of the heavy traffic."→He explained to us that he was late because of t-he heavy traffic.

如果直接引語是由that引導(dǎo)的兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上的并列從句，則間接引語中的第一個(gè)連詞可以省略，以后的連詞一般不省略，以免chaos。例如：The doctor said:"You are not seriously ill, you will be better soon."→The doctor said (that) I was not seriously ill and that I would be better soon.

　　"He told that he would never play with her."這句話讀起來是不是有點(diǎn)別扭呢？其實(shí)這句話在"tell"后接引語時(shí)，是需要帶上間接賓語，才能構(gòu)成雙賓語句型，這是tell的習(xí)慣用法。在ask后，習(xí)慣上也要求跟間接賓語。所以這一句子應(yīng)該改為"he told me that he would never play with her."才更符合英文的表達(dá)習(xí)慣。
