732　worthy，worth while，worthwhile和worth sb.'s while

① worthy是形容詞，除作表語外，還可用作定語，意為“值得的，有價值的，值得尊敬的”，但不用于表示“錢”，而是表示某物或某事值得做，或者適合做某事，其結(jié)構(gòu)為：

be worthy of+名詞/代詞

be worthy of+動名詞被動式

be worthy+不定式。

The town is worthy of a visit/to be visited. 那座小城值得去看一看。

The job is not worthy of her. 這項工作配不上她。（這項工作太簡單，而她則是個很有本領(lǐng)才華的人。）

She is not worthy to be my teacher. 她不配當(dāng)我的老師。

The university has graduated many worthy young people. 這所大學(xué)培養(yǎng)了許多優(yōu)秀的年輕人。

It is worth while making the decision.

③ worthwhile是一個詞，為形容詞，意為“有價值的，合算的，值得做的”，可用作表語或定語。
