616　skim，scan和skip

① skim和scan都可譯為“瀏覽，略讀”，但嚴(yán)格講來(lái)是兩種不同的快速閱讀方法。scan是為了獲得某個(gè)具體信息而瀏覽一遍 （find important or interesting information），相當(dāng)于“查閱”，以找到想要找的內(nèi)容，如查字典。skim指快速讀過(guò)去，以得到主旨大意（main idea），閱讀過(guò)程中對(duì)不重要的部分一掃而過(guò)，如看報(bào)紙等，相當(dāng)于“翻閱”（without looking at details）。

He scans the papers for all presidential news. 他瀏覽了報(bào)紙，看看所有關(guān)于總統(tǒng)競(jìng)選的消息。

Astronomers scanned the sky for a sight of the comet. 天文學(xué)家觀察天空尋找彗星的蹤影。

Just skimming the paper，I came across the advertisement. 翻閱報(bào)紙時(shí)，我看見(jiàn)了這條廣告。

This book is worth skimming through. 這本書(shū)值得泛讀一下/瀏覽一下。

② skip意為“跳讀”。

I'd skip this chapter if I were you. 如果我是你的話，這一章我會(huì)略而不讀。
