① leave表示“讓,聽(tīng)任,使處于某種狀態(tài)”時(shí),后可跟復(fù)合賓語(yǔ),結(jié)構(gòu)為:
leave sth./sb.+形容詞 使某人或某物處于什么狀態(tài)
leave sb.+名詞 使某人成為某某人
leave sb. to do sth. 讓某人做某事
leave sb./sth. doing sth. 讓某人或某物繼續(xù)某種動(dòng)作行為
leave sth. done使某事被做
His illness has left him very weak. 他的病使他非常虛弱。
She left the child an orphan. 她使那孩子成了孤兒。
The teacher left them to work out the problem by themselves. 老師讓他們自己解決那個(gè)問(wèn)題。
Don't leave her waiting outside. 不要讓她在外面等。
He left the job half-finished. 他把活干了一半就不干了。
② leave sb./sth. with sb.表示“把……托付給/留給”。
She left word with the door keeper. 她給看門人留言。
Leave the matter with me,will you?把這件事情交給我辦,好嗎?
Leave it with you. 拜托了。
He left the sick child with his grandma. 他把生病的孩子托給祖母。
She left the boy with 200 dollars. 她為那個(gè)男孩留下了200美元。
=She left 200 dollars to the boy.
③ 表示“把某物留在或忘在某地了”要用leave sth. +介詞短語(yǔ)結(jié)構(gòu)。
She left the key in the car. 她把鑰匙忘在車?yán)锪恕?
I left my dictionary in the classroom. 我把詞典忘在教室里了。
I forgot my dictionary in the classroom.(誤,這種用法不可用forget)
④ leave for意為“到某地方去;把……留給某人”。
He will leave for Paris. 他將去巴黎。
The newly married couple are about to leave for their honeymoon. 這對(duì)新婚夫婦將去度蜜月。
She left a note for her daughter. 她給女兒留了一個(gè)便條。
⑤ leave to意為“移交;聽(tīng)任;把……讓……去解決”。
They left the case to his judgement. 他們把這個(gè)案子留給他去審理。
The matter was left to his consideration. 這件事留給他去考慮。
You can't leave your son to himself. 你不能聽(tīng)任你兒子自行其是。
