357　idea，conception和thought

① idea意為“主意，念頭，思想”，常用詞，可用來指各種思維活動，并有 understanding（理解），knowledge（了解）等含義。作“主意”解時，idea為可數(shù)名詞。

That's a good idea. 那是一個好主意。

I have got a wonderful idea. 我有一個好主意。

He is a man full of ideas. 他這個人滿腦子主意。

② have the idea of sth./doing sth.表示“有……想法，產(chǎn)生……的念頭，知道”，后跟動名詞時，of可省。

She has the idea（of） becoming a singer.

她有當(dāng)歌唱家的想法。

She has the idea to become a singer.

I have some idea of what happened then. 當(dāng)時發(fā)生的情況我知道一些。

Have you any idea（of）travelling abroad？你有去國外旅行的想法嗎？

③ have no idea of sth.表示“不知道”，后可跟名詞、代詞或what從句等。跟what從句時of可省。have no idea（不知道）后可跟that從句。

I have no idea of it. 我不知道這件事。

He has no idea（of） what she said at the meeting. 他不知道她在會上說了什么。

④ conception指理性的概括能力，表示“概念的形成，思想的構(gòu)成，觀念，看法”。

The plan is very imaginative in conception. 這個計劃的構(gòu)想極具想象力。

⑤ thought指應(yīng)用知識，經(jīng)過推理或思考而形成的思想，這種思想是比較系統(tǒng)的，且比較抽象。

His book contains great and lofty thoughts. 他的書中有著偉大崇高的思想。
