① devote oneself to sth./doing sth.表示“獻身于，致力于”。

She devoted herself to music. 她專心研究音樂。

He devoted himself to helping the poor. 他致力于幫助窮人。

② devote sth. to sth./doing sth.表示“把……用于，把……貢獻給”。

He devoted all his time to the study of physics. 他把全部時間都用于研究物理。

He devoted his life to studying English grammar. 他一生致力于研究英語語法。

③ contribute to sth.意為“為某事出一份力，為某事捐款，有助于”。

All the students in the school contributed to the building of the bridge. 這所學(xué)校所有的學(xué)生都為建造這座橋捐了款。
