① burn up意為“燒完，燒掉”（=burn completely），強(qiáng)調(diào)動作的完成。

All her books were burned up in the fire. 她全部的書都在大火中燒掉了。

The house burned up before the firemen got there. 消防隊員趕到前，房子已經(jīng)燒光了。
