① attend為及物動詞，意為“出席，參加”。

Will you attend the meeting tomorrow？你明天參加會議嗎？

They will go and attend a lecture. 他們將去聽演講。

提示

可以說 attend church（上教堂），attend school（上學(xué)），但“參加音樂會”要說go to a concert，不可用attend。

② attend to表示“注意，聽；處理”，后跟名詞。

He attended carefully to what the teacher was saying. 他注意聽老師講課。

I'll attend to that problem tomorrow. 明天我將處理那個問題。
