30　affect，effect和influence

① affect是及物動詞，表示“影響，(病)侵襲”，暗示產(chǎn)生的影響如此強(qiáng)烈，以致能引起反應(yīng)。

Smoking affects health. 吸煙影響健康。

The rise in the price has affected all of them. 物價的上漲影響了他們所有的人。

Her words won't affect my decision. 她的話不會影響我的決定。

The disease affected his mind very much. 疾病極大地?fù)p害了他的大腦。

② affect也可以表示“使……感動”，指人，表示思想感情受外界事物的影響而“感動”，這種“感動”所引發(fā)的是傷感、熱愛、憤怒、憐憫等情緒。

The film so affected her that she cried. 這部電影那么感人，她哭了。

His death affected her deeply. 他的去世使她深感悲痛。

He was much affected by the sad story. 那個悲傷的故事深深地打動了他。

They were all affected to tears. 他們都感動得流淚了。

Music affects some people very strongly. 音樂對一些人有很強(qiáng)的感染力。

③ effect表示“影響”時，是名詞，不能誤用為動詞。

④ effect用作動詞時表示“招致，促成，產(chǎn)生”。

He effected several changes in the company. 他在公司里促成了好幾項改革。

I hope this new drug will effect a cure. 我希望這種新藥會治愈病。

⑤ influence指通過間接的、不易覺察的方式對人的思想行為產(chǎn)生潛移默化的影響，也可指自然界的影響，可作動詞或名詞;有時還可指有勢力、有影響的人或物。

Young people are quickly influenced by new ideas. 年輕人接受新思想的影響快。

What we read influences our thinking. 我們閱讀的書籍影響我們的思想。

Literature and art have a great influence upon people's ideology. 文學(xué)藝術(shù)對人們的思想意識有很大的影響。
