Kate is an American high school student. 凱特是一個(gè)美國(guó)的高中學(xué)生。

One day in September, her English teacher,九月的一天,她的英語(yǔ)老師,

Mr. Smith, said to the students in his class, 史密斯先生說(shuō),他班上的學(xué)生,

" I think you learned a lot of things during the summer holidays. “我認(rèn)為你學(xué)了很多東西在夏天的假期。

Kate thought and thought about the homework. 凱特的思想和思考作業(yè)。

but she couldn't think of anything good. 但她不能想出什么好。

At last she called her friend Mary on the telephone 最后她叫她的朋友瑪麗的電話(huà)

and asked her about the homework.并問(wèn)她關(guān)于作業(yè)。

Mary said that she was writing about swimming in the lake.瑪麗說(shuō),她寫(xiě)的是湖里游泳。

Soon after that, Kate tried to write about bird watching.不久之后,凱特想寫(xiě)關(guān)于觀鳥(niǎo)。

Her father took her to the lake to watch birds in July.她父親帶她去湖邊看鳥(niǎo)在7月。
